On Monday 02 Feb, Kep Chuktema, the Phnom Penh city governor, announced the launch in April of a road construction site which will bypass over the Monivong intersection.

The launch of the bypass over the Monivong intersection, which is part of the planned schedule of the city hall, was officially announced by Kep Chuktema on 02 Feb. The span for “sky bridge” will be 308-meter long and 14.2-meter wide. The $6 million project will be paid for by the OCIC (Oversea Cambodia Investment Company) which obtained the right to manage the nearby Koh Pich Island.

According to the schedule imposed by the city hall, the construction will last 12 months. A second road of this type could see the daylight at the intersection of the Russian Federation and the Preah Kossamak Hosptial roads, located in front the Phnom Penh Royal University. The latter project is in fact still under feasibility study.
